I wish that were the case to be honest because I can’t believe it either. I log on here once a day to check messages, delete old posts that don’t need to be kept for my archives and make sure I’m following everyone I need to on my new account and mostly all I find are messages trying to hurt me. Fortunately I just don’t care anymore - I’ve heard the worst they can say and said the worst that can be said in my head.

If you are just starting then I’d recommend Living Dolls, it was the first book on feminism I purchased and it is not too dense. Other than that I suggest Cunt and Women Who Run With The Wolves.
The Beauty Myth is perfect, it is everything I hoped for when reading the title for the first time. The Beauty Myth is about how as women progress, gaining power socially and politically, they are being oppressed by beauty, by hunger and by themselves. The book discusses things like the one stone solution, the industry of billions of dollars that profits from the disconnection of women and men and is a wealth of statistics (for instance did you know that between 1968 and 1972 diet-related articles in magazines rose by 70%).
I recommend it, in short haha :)
